How to get green out of hair?
To remove green tones from your hair, you can follow these methods:
Pink Toning Conditioner
- Apply a pink toning conditioner, like oVertone's Pink Toning Conditioner, evenly to wet hair and wait 2-3 minutes, then rinse and dry. Pink tones counteract green tones.
Swimmer's Shampoos
- Use swimmer's shampoos, available from specific brands, which are designed to neutralize the copper and chlorine in pools that can cause green tints on hair.
Baking Soda
- Create a mixture of ¼ to ½ cup of baking soda and water. Apply to your hair, massage for 2-3 minutes, and wash out.
Ketchup
- Use ketchup on your hair, cover with tin foil for 30 minutes, then wash and condition as usual.
Lemon Juice
- Saturate your hair with lemon juice for 5-10 minutes, then shampoo and condition as usual.
Aspirins and Water
- Crush 6-8 aspirin tablets, dissolve in warm water, apply to hair, leave for 15-20 minutes, then wash and condition.
Lemon Kool-Aid
- Mix lemon Kool-Aid with water and apply to hair, leave for 5 minutes, then wash and condition.
Clarifying Shampoos
- Use clarifying shampoos like Head & Shoulders or Paul Mitchell clarifying shampoo to remove the copper from blonde strands.
Vinegar
- Create a mixture of equal parts apple cider vinegar and warm water, pour over hair, leave for a few minutes, and rinse out thoroughly.
Kindly note that it may be necessary to repeat the process if the green tint persists. Mixing different methods or seeking professional guidance might be required for more stubborn green tints. Always follow up with a moisturizing conditioner for scalp health and hair care.
