One Christmas Day, a large dog with a squishy face was milling around in my front yard. A friend leaving my home after our celebrations texted, “Do you know this dog?” The text sent me outside, leash in hand, to see if I could help this curious pup. With my friend’s help, the dog was leashed, photographed and posted on our various social media pages. Then, the dog and I took a walk. I tried to keep the leash loose so he could hopefully lead me to his home. Unfortunately, he didn’t. But we did meet many neighbors who also didn’t recognize him. When we got back home, he hung out in the backyard while I fielded the responses on social media.
