Marion County firefighters rescue escaped cockatoo entangled in tree

Marion County firefighters made a special rescue early Friday morning that made a local pet owner quite happy. Friendship Fire Station #21’s Ladder 3 crew responded to a call for help at 5:24 a.m. in the 9900 block of S.W. 102nd Place in Ocala after a resident’s cockatoo escaped and was spotted about 40 feet high in a tree. The cockatoo named Bella was wearing a harness that had gotten caught up in the tree branches, a report states.
